Hello, my name is Joana. I am a Lisbon based creative director.
I use creativity to foster unity by creating about the intersection of true edge of ability, accurate learning curve/process and individual tone.
Joana is a dance based creative director — a humanitarian at core born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal with a holistic viewpoint and lofty goals.
A former dancer and dance instructor trained in NYC at Peridance Capezio Center (4 years), and a certified Pilates Instructor too who creates innovative stage performance structures and teaching methods that foster self-development through art. Her work is rooted in the principle of interconnectivity and holds today’s social evolution front stage as subject matter.
Beyond her academic studies and vast experience as a movement teacher/performer across the globe for over a decade, most of her professional ability stems from the wisdom her life path has unfolded — continuous contact with highly intelligent people from a very early age, an inherently broad sense of curiosity and an overall health decline which demanded a thorough process of personal transformation.
It was mainly through a necessary study of the inner webs of life leading up to recovery that her professional purpose unfolded.“It is by accumulation, when individual contributions are attuned that the potential for collective success is maximized through a sense of heaven on earth that preserves individuality and self expression.”
Today, Joana gives to this cause through contemporary art by offering services as a creative director. Her work has been featured on stages such as Jacobs Pillow, Chautauqua Institution and the Guggenheim Museum in NYC. Find a sample of her work here.

Information moves seamlessly around and through us at lightning speed today, offering the golden opportunity to practice informed decision making. This is a time of great abundance, but it is also a time of great confusion.
Since globalization outpoured into the entertainment channels, conformity has been on the rise. A fork in the road slowly unravels, as there seems to be a collective call for the re-evaluation of definitions and its connection to contribution — conceptually and practically. The demand is no longer for prescriptive or dictatorial stances, but rather for clear and inspiring statements of leadership of various sorts. Through an unwavering tone that mimics that of true reality in principle, such channels shall provide fertile ground for all shades of expression to freely interact and evolve accordingly.
Reality is a point of view that stems from the marriage between perception and true reality. The first is highly sensitive to new information wavering greatly on a daily basis, the second is unwavering.
True reality refers to a space far beyond right and wrong that contains the logic of life itself. Find me there, being in the world of today as it is gladly and creating for the world I wish be a part of tomorrow.
